Reality Shows

There are lot of shows and sops being aired to our home on TV channels. UTV bindass dadagiri...a reality show full of -beeps-... can the producers give one legitimate reason of telecasting it to the society? Is it to increase harshness among youngsters in the society or it is just making a reality show and earning from it? Producers of such shows for channels, don't they have any social responsibility? Few days back ,a programme named Sach ka Samna telecasted by Star Plus has created a stir among few politicians in Rajya Sabha as if they would be asked to be seated in HOT SEAT and thier secrets unearthed. There is nothing wrong in copying western format of reality shows but it must be set to the standards of indian society. The Q&A from the celebrity guest must inspire positive attitude within people to say the truth rather highlighting their private lives to increase the TRP ratings.

Relationships play a important role in human life. The good is the relationships, the better is the growth in life. How many serials in the Channels magnify the brighter side of relationships in the society versus the darker side? Have we ever realised the impact of such channel shows on every section and age group of indian society? Perhaps!!! the question can be best answered by experts in child psychology, social psychology and sociology.

We need to think seriously now...before its too late.

Surrendering Maoist

Kandri Lohar alias Madhuri is just an example who walked away from CPI[Maoist] outfit to join the main stream. Four years have passed but the benefits as per Naxal surrender policy is yet to be showered on her by the Govt. Watching Madhuri's fate, will other groupmates take the route to surrender and come to main stream for survival? Poverty debars poor people esp BPL people from getting adequate education. The lack of education disqualifies them to take up any proper job to take care of family. To add to it, there is either harrassment or negligence of govt officers when they try to avail the benefits of any govt welfare policy or rehabitation schemes. Poor people get motivated to join such violent group only when survival is at stake. Circumstances force such violent group to snatch the right to live when the surrouding environment do not allow them to survive. Is it necessary always to talk gun to gun with the Naxal? Has the govt lost its patience for a continuance of peace talk? I believe, if all the welfare and rehabiltation policies for the poor by the govt, is promptly implemented and monitored then violent group such as Naxal would never come into existence.

There are political babus, crorepati businessman, learned people, high order spiritual gurus and social service organisations in the country but a healthy synchronisation for a better coexistence still remains as dream for many.

Lastly, as you sow, so shall you reap... should never be forgotten by humans.

Kambakht Ishq-Mockery of hindu dharma

"Om Mangalam bhagwan Vishnu,Mangalam garudadhwajah,Mangalam pundareekaksham........" These words are sacred hindu chants of Lord Vishnu

"[Om mangalam mangalam,Om mangalam mangalam]-4 times
Will you marry me?
Huh no..Mangalam bhagwan Vishnu,Mangalam garudadhwajah,Mangalam pundareekaksham,Mangalayatano harih"..........these words are the lyrics of Om mangalam song from the film Kambakht Ishq. Furthermore, there are scene in this movie where the hero of film refers the mantra as" this bloody mantra" and the heroine refers " what an awful song! stop it!" when played in objectionable situation.
a. Should we allow the indian filmakers to make a mockery of our own hindu religion,in name of
expression of creativity?
b. Should we allow the abuse of sanctity of hindu mantras in films?
c. Shouldn't such elements in the films be censored when it hurts religious sentiments?

When we don't value our Nationality, religion, culture, tradition etc......How can we expect the rest of the world to respect it? So....let's get concious of our acts for society.

Lead Orissa-IV

The judges like Shekhar Kapoor, Sonali Bendre and Kirron Kher were awestuck, the audiences were entralled when a proud son of orissa Krishna Mohan with his group from Berhampur exhibited Krishna Avatar at India's got the talent- reality show on colours channel. When Shekhar Kapoor uttered - World Class Act, it brought tears to my eyes with pride.I request NGO's, Social Clubs & organisation to conduct such type of competitions from the grass root level, encourage such rare talent and display to the world-the hidden potential of orissa.Furthermore, comparing with the similar type of reality show in other channel, I appreciate the promoters of India's got the talent on colours channel who are genuinely working towards the society by not only providing a platform to the lesser known performers but also by creatively rejecting the acts by the judges in a decent manner which are high risk in nature for upcoming generations

Lead Orissa-III

This has reference to Lifter weighed down by fund crunch. Why do real heroes of Orissa suffer? Few months back our champion rower Pravasini Dwidevi had been hit by the same fate. Mandakini Mohanta is not the only example. Achieveing medals at National and International level, doesn't it add to our state pride? Is the State Govt unaware or incompetent to promote such real heroes/talents of the state? NGO's along with media should collect sponsorship from the big industrial units to nourish such talents of the state. Its needless to say, if we promote such stars at National and International level, today then Orissa shall be remembered for better reasons tommorow.

Lead Orissa-II

The moment was worth watching when Jalpana Paul accepted the "Real Hero of India 2009" award for sports at CNN-IBN & Reliance Industries Ltd Real Heroes Awards Night at Hotel Trident. Jalpana Paul was from Malkangiri district, Orissa and her selfless contribution to sports in rural areas made her win this award. Her touchy speech filled with honour for womanhood and pride for the district where she belonged to, shadowed everyone in the award's podium namely Nita Ambani, Aamir Khan & Rajdeep Sardesai and made the elite audience to clap with dignity.People like Jalpana Paul are the real people of country who make a difference in lives of other people without any selfish interest or any discimination. Thier life stories impart good lessons for life for every generation. But alas! our media be it print or electronic as well as entertainment industry, has little space for such honoured people and thier true inspirational stories. It must not be forgotten" As you sow,so shall you reap"

Lead Orissa-I

LEAD ORISSA,This refers to " Cop Tamang is new indian idol". Whopping seven crore votes for making Indian Idol has changed not only the life of Prashant Tamang, a constable in West Bengal police but deeply underlined the presence of the North East states in the National Map. It also made lesser known Amit Paul co contestant, a brand ambassador of peace& harmony for Meghalaya Government. The support for Indian Idol contestants by North East State governments & its people as well as West Bengal police created an example for rest of country.

Does it not impart lessons to states like Orissa to encourage, support & nuture talents? Even after winning asia cup for country Prabodh Tirkey captain of Indian Hockey team and son of orissa didnt get a welcome on his arrival to the state capital airport. The child prodigy millennium bismay to become youngest matriculate is left traumatized. The bitter truth of life of Pravisini Dwivedy -Rower is unspeakableand many more.

Apart from industrial boom in steel & power sector, will orissa be known for super cyclone, poverty & crime?
